make your own glow in the dark slime

Ok, so this calls for Borax and well, new studies show that Borax may cause some trouble for pregnant women and young children and you REALLY don't want to eat it.  Anyway, it is pretty cool it glows and so long as you are safe, well it should be fine.  But I am calling this a 3+ for the eating issue.

Layered Density Column (how to)

This is just too cool and really hands on. I would definitely do this with a 2 year old, but not in glass, plastic seems safer.  I would also see what flouted at what levels as some household items flout on water while others would sink.  Check it out here.

U.S. Military Freebies

Photo/Illustration: The U.S. Army
Seeing that it is the 4th of July, I thought today I would honor the men and women that serve our country by linking up some free things they have access to:

Sittercity: This is free to us so long as you are military.  I think this is only for Active duty members, but don't know since I didn't know about Sittercity until we were active duty.

SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, and Sesame Place:  Throughout 2011 they are allowing military members and 3 dependents (with ID's) in for free.  There is more to it, so you will want to read the fine print.

Hero Care:  These guys are new and are still trying to go nation wide, but where they are, they are VERY helpful.

Garden Flowers

We just signed out of our old house yesterday and moved 5 houses down the road.  This new yard had well, a YARD! and I can plant if I care to (and I do).  So since I am finally able to plant and do some landscaping I have been peeking around for some AWESOME lawn decor.  I found these babies over at Linda Peterson Designs and fell in LOVE (look old soda cans REBORN!!!)!  She has a great tutorial so head over and take a peek!
